@ We are. The Auto industry is failing in the EU, a lot of them are setting up factories in the US where they will continue to make real cars. At some point, BMW and Audi might be US brands. Oh, and recently, Porsche announced they are moving away from EVs since their customers don't want them

@ There was a time from roughly 1930 to 1990 where there were special tax break for extracting oil, but those are long gone. The oil companies get the same tax breaks as any other mining company.

@ Can you cite any special subsidy for oil that isn't used by every other business? Not the accelerated depreciation allowance; that was effectively ended 25 years ago.

Wait until those people with the supersized batteries have to replace them. Or perhaps they were smart enough to have a 3 year lease and stick the guy after them with the cost.
