  1.  @sang3Eta  Great historical reference, Yes they were and they enjoyed a heyday in the 1890's despite their lack of range. They were the favorites of the wives of wealthy men because they didn't need to turn the crank to start it. When Cadillac introduced the first car with an electric starter in 1912 electric cars quickly disappeared because gasoline was superior to the lead-acid batteries used in early electric cars. Ironically, gas is still a better energy source than Lithium batteries for cars.

  3. Maybe they used low-flashpoint steel and aluminum in the bus and a stray cigarette butt made the whole bus go up. Could happen, right?

  6.  @harrywood8196  One of the battery packs is in the front of the bus under the hood along with a diesel engine to produce heat Obviously they worked with a fire like that. They created a lot of heat.
