@brianbarcroft9167 How many kilometers do you drive daily on average?

@Hitstirrer You are happy to spend getting on for £100 filling your car Well, closer to £31 in the US

@brianbarcroft9167 What the hell has it got to do with you Not sure if that is a British-ism, but you bragged that you don't even have to charge very much, so I asked how many miles do you drive a day. Because your claim can't be evaluated unless we know how much you actually drive. I have a gas EV that only has to be filled up every 2 months. That is a true statement, but by saying that I am begging the questions of daily use and how much I drive per day on average.

wait... we're supposed to turn off the A/C in the summer? and turn off the seat heater in winter? This is the future? Paying more to get less?

@brianbarcroft9167 It's not controversial, you just didn't give enough context. You could a a retired guy who drives to the market once a week. In the US most EV owners have them as 2nd cars to either commute or go to the supermarket. But they still want an automobile that can do the 400-500 miles easily and then be refueled in 2-3 minutes.

The government feels it is important to track everything you do. And why wouldn't we want to be embraced by the loving bosom of an all-knowing all-powerful government?

@stevehale4712 I'm curious why you feel the need to have fealty to a technology. You like it, other people don't. But you're probably a little more vested in defending it than is healthy (just my opinion). The actual reason people are upset at EV is not necessarily the technology itself; it's about governments mandating a technology that simply doesn't work for everyone (not is it good for the environment). Now in the US we elected someone who is getting rid of the EV mandate and removing taxpayer subsidies, which will tend to make people far less upset at EV's and they'll probably make it up to 5-6% of the overall fleet of cars, but it won't go a lot higher until significant improvements are made to current cars.

@brianbarcroft9167 You EV haters do get excited don't you? Don't know anyone who hates them, but they're probably twice as expensive as they should be, and they shouldn't be subsidized by taxpayers.

@brianbarcroft9167 Range from 306 to 507km depending on model A 1998 Honda Accord Saloon has a range of roughly 770km on a full tank.

@PeterGardner-e1z In the US we still have a company that makes washers in the US, and it's still considered the most robust washer available and you turn a dial and press a button. Ironically the cheaper washers don't have this type of computer control, a timer dial and a start button. Apparently despite being relatively cheap, they last a long time as well.
