@jonfrench7133 looks like you have the same attitude to education Have you considered he actually knows more about EVs than you? That seems far more likely.

@jonfrench7133 It doesn't keep me happy, but you're fairly un-knowledgable about engineering and cars specifically. Clarkson is a far better source of information than you. That's not even something worth arguing about.

@jonfrench7133 Hardly an oracle, simply more informed than you. As I said, that's undeniable.

@jonfrench7133 It doesn't help me at all. It's pretty obviously that EVs are inferior to normal cars in every way. You seem a bit unraveled by it though.

@markseehawer3762 The issue is that once someone buys something they become a fan boi, which makes no sense.

Serious question. When an EV burns, how much pollution is created, and how does it compare to the lifetime pollution caused by a real car?

@jonfrench7133 I3 Full Battery Replacement – $5,000 to $7,000+ – The out-of-pocket cost for a brand new replacement i3 battery pack ranges from about $5,000 on the low end to over $7,000+ depending on the model year and specific battery. Labor costs will also need to be added which account for another $500-$1000. So for as much as $8,000 and with gas at roughly $3/gallon (this week), and an average car getting around 30 mpg, that would take a real car roughly 80,000 miles. And the best part is you can fill your car up in under 5 minutes anywhere in the US.

@arsyadidris6349 Well don't forget the studies that were highlighted in the WSJ that claimed that an EV battery would have to last 70 years to make up for the CO2 released during the making of the battery. Now me, I don't believe CO2 is the boogieman that is currently claimed. In fact several peer reviewed papers are questioning if CO2 is relevant to global warming at all.

Apparently our government overloads believe we need to destroy the earth to save it.
