@oldbloke204 So driving EVs will change that? No, but the people who buy them believe it helps reduce the temperature. Meanwhile India and China are opening a new coal fired generating plant a week, and the western world is shutting down power plants. Almost as if the far east has convinced the west to self-destruct.

Anything in the lab is 5-10 years away from production. In fact, it's highly likely that new chemistry will never see the commercial light of day because it may be too expensive to produce or not practical in volume. Until it's in a car for sale, assume it won't go anywhere.

@FYMASMD Wildfires are caused by bad forest management that doesn't allow small fires to burn that would use up all the fuel on the forest floor. The immediate cause is generally people accidentally starting the fire. Smokey the Bear was the worst idea ever.

@PSUQDPICHQIEIWC They push cities for multiple reasons that boil down to "We don't think people make the right choices where to live". The irony is the bulk of the heat is being created in these megacities. If they cared about the planet, they'd want people to live far apart in lower concentrations.
