  1. Government didn't build gas stations nor electric companies. What the automobile companies need to do is figure out a way for private industry to make building chargers profitable, or else it will never happen. Further, they need to improve charge times significantly for people who drive long distances. You can fill a typical car in 5 minutes and have 400+ miles of range. The car companies need to engage in basic research that will fix the battery problem overall. 400 miles under 15 minutes 0-100% charge.
