@robertpaulson8790 Here's the order of who gets paid in the US: 1. holders of fixed charges and creditors with proprietary interest in assets 2. expenses of the insolvent estate 3. the insolvency practitioners fees 4. preferential creditors such as employees 5. the prescribed part set aside for unsecured creditors from funds owned to holders of floating charges up to a maximum financial cap, depending when the charge was created 6. holders of floating charges 7. unsecured creditors You'd have to see the documents they people signed who gave them money hoping to get a car.
