  1. Well, the thing is, they can make all the movies they want with whatever social messaging they'd like. But nobody is going to see them and these studios are losing their collective shirts on them. As to Oscars and awards show, Hollywood has shown their disdain for their customers, so that about 1/10th of the people even watch these award shows compared to 8-10 years ago. It boils down to Hollywood becoming irrelevant as a leader of culture.

  2. The reality is that the movie business is failing because of an adherence to the current social justice madness. Look at the numbers for all major studies and Netflix.

  3. Let's be clear though, humanities and communications degrees that women favor are not equal to computer science and engineering (which are actually quite valuable) that men tend to go into. The issue is really that women are getting these useless degrees are also racking up record debt and will complain that (a) there are no men available (b) somebody else needs to pay off their college loans. And for the long-term it means the west will have fewer engineers and computer scientists, and feminists will illogically complain that the women are discouraged from getting these degrees.
