  1. I never turn my computer off unless I'm traveling and mostly to save a little bit of electricity; malware comes from you installing or clicking on stuff you shouldn't. The idea that your computer is "open" to the internet is something that seems like common sense, but it's actually not at all.

  2. You just uninstall it like any other program from the control panel. Lots of tutorials out there on the internet, even Microsoft has a tutorial on how to do it. If you're really concerned about privacy, make sure you get rid of your Facebook account as well.
