@benevolencia4203 If your neighbor’s house burns down, they’re not homeless; they are unhoused They're homeless until they find another place to stay. And it's not hard to understand at all.

Of course the people making money from homelessness won't like this. The gravy train would end. Keeping the problem alive is the province of government agencies and the private companies making money from it. P.S. Say "homeless". unhoused is a made up word.

@Elizabeth-n3v2u What other parts of Christianity would you like introduced into our government? Or are you picking and and choosing which parts of the government will adopt Christian values?

@grayisgood _So you think people WANT to put tents on the sidewalk and live there?" In many cases yes. They enjoy being able to do what they want when they want to. They can get high all day, drink when they want to. Why do you think they move to fair weather cities? Like they could have a nice home but no, they'd prefer to be on the sidewalk Well, no they can't have a nice home because they're not willing to do the work to earn a nice home. No one is entitled to a nice home.

@michellejessup6618 Not really. Lets think in terms of statistically what are we dealing with. And right off, we know 70-80% of the homeless are drug addicted or mentally ill. The drug addicted must go into rehab before they get help. No giving them clean needles, nothing until the agree to get clean. The mentally ill need treatment and we put them in institutions where we determine if they can be cured or whether they have to stay as a ward of the state. Yes, there are young families who are always on the edge of homelessness because the finances are not great, but the vast majority of them are only homeless for 6-9 months. They deserve our help. But help is not giving them a house, its temporary shelter so they can live with a little dignity and find a job (or given a job cleaning up parks or anything to ensure that people understand nothing is free on the entire planet. Everything comes with a cost.
