  2. The American Taxpayer did not pay for the internet. The internet was paid for by the individual companies that built it. The internet is a collection of networks that agreed to pass information between them based on a standard that was developed by Bolt Beranek & Newman (BBN) as part of an ARPANET project financed by the DOJ. Kara Swisher doesn't even understand that Twitter, Instagram & Facebook are not the internet.
