  4. Completely fake news. The reason for scrapping the $900M Florida campus is happening for two reasons: 1) Iger hated the plan, so once Chapek was fired, that decision was made. And more to the point 2) Disney was expecting it's LA talent to move to Florida, and everybody pretty much said no, so there was no support for the plan internally.   5. This is why I dropped my subscription to the WSJ. It has all the credibility of MSNBC. Only the oped page is worth reading. The rest is fish wrapper.

  6.  @jakes658  Most of the WSJ's news is doctrinaire Democrat that you could get from Don Lemon. It's on that level. Rebecca Balhaus was particularly egregious, and although she's gone, the rest of the undereducated journalists who work at that paper have taken on the same role.

  7. Brian Choi has it wrong. The problem with the meal kits besides their high expense is that they offer better deals to new customers than loyal customers, so you are always better off switching. And by the way, it costs more than get meal kits than just buying the ingredients at the store. It's not even close. They are their own worst enemy. P.S. We tried Blue Apron, and we stopped because *the food tastes exactly the same. It's strange, but the spices were exactly the same.

  15. In most cities, subway systems are seen as a way to provide jobs to city residences. They have no push to become more efficient or improve service, because (a) they don't view the rider as their customer (b) they believe their main problem is they don't get enough funding (c) efficiency is not rewarded and no one is punished for poor service.

  34.  @jaju123456  The current inflation is being caused by a massive increase in the M2 money supply. In July 2022, U.S. M2 money supply peaked at an all-time high of roughly $21.7 trillion, which was a way of increasing the money supply to support Biden's green new deal as part of the ironically named "Inflation Reduction act" which has nothing to do with inflation. Thus, our inflation is a monetary phenomenon, not a supply/demand problem. It comes from printing too much money. Now we're facing our debt increasing by $1T every 100 days due to the proliferate spending of Biden and the Democrats.

  39.  @jakes658  Under Trump we had record revenues. Congress also budgeted for more new programs than new taxes. But spending will have to be cut. We'll either do it intelligently, or the world will force it on us when they refuse to buy our debt. Then the billionaire class will really take over, and you'll be paying 70% of your salary in taxes to pay off that debt.

"Treasury bonds are part of the larger category of U.S. sovereign debt known collectively as Treasuries, which are typically regarded as virtually risk-free since they are backed by the perception of U.S. government's ability to tax its citizens." So individual citizens are taxed to pay for the debt, but if the US defaults on these bonds, the net effect is the US simply can't sell any more debt. Unless you believe the Chinese army will invade to force congress to pay the debt via higher taxation.

  49. Lichtman only considered recession as a vote driver. In fact, inflation is poison to the presidency. If an incumbent has high inflation, they lose. period. And add to that, Biden's open border policy and the Democrats are actually screwed because they can't defend any of their policies. Why else would Trump be up 6 points in the national race?
