The choice for the people of Portland is simple.... abandon the city or get together and vote every last politician who keep saying "we need more public housing" out.

@atomsk1972 Actually you do. If you keep voting the same people in who tolerate homelessness and encourage it by lying and saying "it's a housing crisis", then you voted for homelessness. Homelessness is about drug addition and mental illness. It has little to do with housing.

@frankmacleod2565 As soon as you throw antifa out, and put in rational policies that includes institutionalizing the mentally ill homeless, and driving homeless drug users out of Portland, then maybe you'll have a city worth living in. Until then, it's probably one of the last places considering moving to.

@frankmacleod2565 Portland is becoming a destination for people with drug addiction. Plus the tolerance of tent cities for homeless is something that simply isn't allowed in well-run cities. I appreciate that you're proud of your city, but people are leaving it, and nobody new wants to go there. As long as Portland thinks they can solve addiction and mental illness by allowing open-air drug markets, and letting mentally ill wander the streets, the city will continue to fade. I sincerely with you and Portland well.
