  2. She was offered a book deal at a minimum. No idea about a threat, although it's possible. But book deals are a standard way to pay off people. You give them a book deal including a ghost writer, and then a political entity buys say.... $5M worth of that book. They just throw them away, but the net effect is to transfer money to a person legally.

Liz Cheney is an attorney, and the law looks very unfavorably on officers of the court coaching witnesses with fake stories. It would be fair justice if she was subject to the same punishment the people who the FBI nabbed sitting for four years without being charged. Completely unconstitutional, but as Barry Soetoro observed, "the constitution is just a piece of paper"
