  2. If the president pardons them preemptively, they would be forced to tell the truth in a deposition or go to jail for perjury. They cannot take the fifth. Which is why if you're guilty, you may not want a pardon. But Democrats under-analyze the situation, and then they'll complain about Trump for what they did to themselves. They may be sly, but they ain't smart. Johnathan Martin doesn't look like a stranger to vodka, BTW. Someone tell Joy Reid that Obama's "Children" aren't really his. It's biologically impossible.
