  1. The DC Subway sent out flyers that said "come back to Metro! We've cut crime by 20%". Sorry, no-go. That means crime is still 80% too high on the subway. The only acceptable number is 99% less crime. DC is a small city (less than 10 square miles) and there are place that no one want to be after dark. That might be normal in larger cities like NYC or Chicago, but not in the capital city. Recently one of the DC council members was convicted of taking bribes, was kicked off the council, and the voters elected him again. That tells you all you need to know about DC
