  1. If you don't get 'em young, they might figure out they're really a boy or a girl, and not "confused". An adult talking to 8 year olds about sex is grooming. You can't claim this teacher was a child psychologist, nor was it part of the curriculum. She's not professionally qualified to talk to little kids about this topic. If I was a parent out in this district, I'd call the police and file a complaint.
