@hansolo6827 Exactly right. One of the joys of a sports car is that it has enough power to make those easy passes on the highway, and in traffic that let you point and squirt into holes between cars. If you have to sit in the right lane going the speed limit because your engine just makes noise over 65 MPH, what's the point?

He's a great presenter, no doubt. But his conclusions on cars is....interesting.

@hansolo6827 Exactly. Ford was selling Focus ST's for $25K with a turbo and great handling. The car just needs 250 HP and it would be fine. And the cheapest way to get that level of power would be a turbo.

Toyota didn't sell that many because you can't find a dealer with one on the lot. Most of those have to be Subarus. It's a fine car, but it feels like the red-headed stepchild for both car companies. And the ford Focus ST had a Turbo and a $25K price tag (before discounts). So that completely undercuts your argument that turbo engines will raise the price to stratospheric levels. The Miata with every single option with the electric hardtop is $36K, not $40. The base model Miata is around $26K. Also, the latest Miata (I don't own one, BTW), has a racing pedigree; there's actually a racing series for the car. The car has a ton of handling and go-fast options. The knock against the Miata isn't that it's for "old men", a lot of people just don't want a convertible, which is fine, but the chassis is killer and the price is actually in the same class as the BRZ/8
