  1. You can always choose not to buy a BMW. They stopped being the ultimately driving machine 20 years ago (notice they don't use that slogan any more). I wonder what would happen if you just wire around the limiter (or flash the car) to make it available? Could BMW sue you? Steve, the real issue here is even with a one-time payment, the manufacturer can charge the next owner of the car to buy the same feature again. Tesla does that for used cars today (even if sold privately), although they don't like to talk about it.
