First of all, a 2024 would still have a factory warranty. Second of all it's not her car, and unless they could prove she broke it maliciously. Third, even if the 2024 was out of warranty, the dealer generally has a 30 day warranty anyway. It's on either the dealer or manufacturer. It's weird that dealers want some papers signed to take the car home. I've done that in the past and they just did it by taking a copy of my license. In fact, when I go out for a test drive, I tell the salesman to not come along and generally they don't have a problem with that.
