You know the gigantic emblems they put on the front of cars are so hideous that it's laughably bad. We had no reason to laugh at the cars of yesteryear when many of today's designs are genuinely ugly and non-functional.

@joegrazulis2810 If you took the emblems off a BMW, Honda, Hyundai, and Audi 3 seat SUV's and put them next to each other, even their owners couldn't tell them apart.

When we were kids we used to call cars of this era "Classic Junk Cars" because we thought they were overstyled and junky looking. I appreciate today what the designers were going for, and accept they were a product of the times. They're fun to look at now. As to the back of the oldsmobile, the "round pods" are supposed to be rockets or jets. You know.... Oldmobile Rocket V8? Does that ring a bell? In fact, the back of every car tries to mimic jet/rocket engines. It was age of the jet, and rockets were already here with Sputnik. These symbols were a part of the American psyche of the era. Does that makes more sense now?
