  1. It should be obvious by now that Trump knows exactly what buttons to push. For example, when he off-the cuff wondered Kamala turned black, it wasn't just an offhand remark. He understands the divisions over Harris and he pushed that button and he opened up that division. On the Eating the Pets thing. If Trump had simple said "They're eating the ducks and geese", it wouldn't be memorable because normal people eat ducks and geese. So he pushed on the "eating cats and dogs" and people think of their beloved pet being eaten by an illegal alien. Democrats know he's really really really good at pushing memes, and it's hard to meme him because he takes it and makes it his own, sort of how the British called Americans "Yankee Doodle" and we adopted that as our nickname ("The Yanks"). All that said, the "eating the cats meme" has injected a bit of levity into something that has been quite dour so far.
