@chrisallison9151 For the same reason why she would run - to make a change You're asking a question not asked. The question asked was if systemic racism is real, how did enough people vote for her to become a member of congress ? After all if the country is so racist, there's no way she could make it to congress.

@chrisallison9151 So you knew the answer... if this was a racist country she would never have been elected. As to her journey, look it up, she got into politics early the same as any other person with a different skin hue. You're putting yourself into a naive situation where you're taking the word of a politician at face value. And her elevator story is complete B.S.

@chrisallison9151 As I’m sure you know black people went through a lot of challenges back then and her motivations for going to office was undoing those challenges. Your story falls apart because she didn't run for office in 1946. She ran for congress in 1998. There was no systemic racism at that point. The whole thing is utter Bullsh*t.

@winstonchurchill5892 mythical party switch. FTFY
2
@CitizenSammy exactly when did it happen? A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away

@mollyprysunka7741 It was Democratic Republicans vs. the Federalists LOL. Let's not forget the fact the Federalists party ended by 1801.

There is so much racism against her that these racists forced her to become a member of congress.

@13game3 Ok what is the change she is proposing ? That you believe her when she makes up B.S. stories about how guards in the capitol tell her she's not allowed on the elevator. Next thing you know they said "this is MAGA country".... oh wait.... that's Juicy's made up story.
1
@chrisallison9151 Nah, it's a BS story that in the year 2000 that a guard stopped her from entering congress. We all know it.

@leannsmreker3201 Especially when "race" is truly a social construct (the way sex is truly not a social construct). One has to call out incompetence regardless of the hue of one's skin.

@chrisallison9151 Asking how she got there and why are there are the same thing Not at all. If you asked how did we get to the moon the answer is on a big frickin rocket If you asked why did we go to the moon the answer is to expand our knowledge of our solar system Two completely different questions get two completely different answers. In this case why she decided to go to congress in 1998 because it was the natural progression for an ambitious politician since she was already on that trajectory. If you ask how did she get elected it's because she lives in a very liberal area of northern california and she convinced a lot of non-black voters to vote for her. Those are the facts.

@acyutanandadas1326 No doubt if you took that jumble of almost words you typed in, there might be an english sentence that pops out of that.

@sonic31century1 The Democrats decided party switch occurred to hide the fact that it's the Democrat party that is responsible for the civil war.
