It needs to be said that Spike Lee, in addition to be kinda dumb, looks ridiculous. BTW, why would you use the awkward phrase "enslaved people". Just say "slave".

But Spike Lee WAS saying that Slaves were not allowed to sell their services while being Slaves. Well duh. That's not what the curriculum even says.

@monsterlisa3167 Matt is also a best selling author as well, and has a very popular webcast, so in some ways he's more accomplished than Lee. And in both instances, he also addresses socially meaningful work when he points out the hypocrisy in the entire Trans movement, and addresses other social issues that are a problem in his view. Just giving a counterpoint to what you're saying. I've never find Lee's works particularly engaging, primarily because I view movies as a way to be entertained, and I find it tiresome when directors feel the need to hit you over the head with their point. There's nothing subtle in his approach; other directors like Coppola or even Billy Wilder has a way of getting across their point in a far more subtle way, which makes their works much more appealing and feel like they have a lot more depth.
