Completely agree. The people who get tips are the ones who come to my table, take my order, deliver the food accurately, and check back frequently to see if there's anything I need. Handing me a bag of burgers and fries is *the minimum just to complete a transaction*. You didn't do anything to deserve a tip. Owners of such establishments should stop their staff from doing that; it reflects poorly on the business.

@smittysmeee You've repeated an economic fallacy.... the price of goods and services is determined by two things and two things only: 1) What people are willing to pay for it 2) The prevaling price for something. To illustrate, let's say you own a convenience store and you charge $1 for a can of pop. But you quickly discover 1/3 of your stock is disappearing because of theft. You believe that the store will raise prices to make up for it, but have you considered that if you raise prices, the customer will simply go to another store? You cannot charge significantly more than your competition or you lose all sales. Price is driven by the market, not the store owner's cost.
