Sounds like this came from the same place as the general incompetence today in society. It appears we peaked as a country in the late 1980's and now it's all downhill. Find out if the Pilot was a DEI hire.

@ViggoMJ Where a ship is flagged has nothing to do with who crews it. Plus the reports on the news this morning indicated it was a pilot from Baltimore harbor bringing the ship in, which is common in ports that are tricky.

@SmokeyNades It's not farfetched really. The late 80's featured great music, fun movies, and DEI was 30 years into the future.

@bebs626 DEI hires have run airplanes off runways, they put together those Boeing doors that blow off. They are the people in customer service who have no idea how to help you. They are the 10 people standing by the road watching 2 guys actually doing the work If you don't always pick the best regardless of skin color, you'll continue to have accidents like this. There is no proof that diversity makes us better or stronger . But there is proof that hiring the best qualified does. P.S. funny that you upvoted yourself.

@KemetledAfrica Since no forensics have been done, the conclusion that it lost power may be true but it may not be true. You know something was up when before any real authorities had done an analysis, they announced it was not due to criminal intent. They could not know what happened. Perhaps someone inexperienced leaned over the engineer's console drinking their latte and spilled it shorting out the power.
