  1. John Lovett is trying to draw an analogy where none exists. Gender isn't a real thing. It's a concept that was used for clothing. The science says that at around age 24 children who "believe" they are the other sex snap out of it and settle into their sex. They don't need teachers confusing kids in puberty and insisting they get surgery (meanwhile surgery makes no sense if you believe that sex and gender are different), when it's almost a certainty they will regret it within a decade. Transgender is so rare that it should be something you might see once or maybe twice in your life.
