If you watch the HBO special about the 20th anniversary of the Harry Potter movies with most of the cast (they didn't invite JK Rowling), you come to realize from a very early age these children lived in a fantasy bubble (literally and figuratively) and thus they didn't have the parental oversight to give them a sliver of wisdom. Thus you get a toffee brained git like Daniel Radcliffe insulting the woman who made him famous, because he has no appreciation of how hard it is to become famous reading lines onscreen. The irony is all the heroes of the Potter movies turned out to be mush-brained, and all the actors who played the bad guys in the movies turned out to be the most based in real life.
