@BWMagus It's certainly not a calamity, but there was no reason to make her suddenly "the master code breaker" and out of nowhere was smarter than every mathematician in the UK. In The Drinker's own words from previous reviews, they've done nothing to establish her as someone who knows anything about mathematics, much less someone experienced in codes. Had they simply omitted that little nugget, then she wouldn't have seemed like a Mary Sue.

I just watched it last night and frankly, it's a muddled mess. If I describe the plot, it sounds like it might be interesting, but execution-wise, it feels a lot like a bunch of set pieces strung together as an alternative history of WW I. In that way, it feels a little bit like the first Austin Powers movie. The difference is the set pieces in Austin Powers were funny enough that you remember them decades later. This one goes from slapstick comedy to the hero's son being shot in the head. I don't know how that all fits together into a coherent movie. I'm not even getting into clear but persistent woke messaging throughout the movie, which only rose to the "slightly annoying" level.
