@ChristianIce The Egyptians seem to care the most. You should ask them. As for the rest, nobody's watching it, nobody has any desire to watch it.

@Dunge0n Not true, They ran out of brown paint that day, so they went with white. They were being paid by the portrait, not the hour. And like any good contractor, they went with the fastest way to get the job done.

"We wuz kings" said the people who don't understand history. Plus, wasn't Cleopatra considered attractive? Besides, why didn't they talk about that African queen, Queen Nzinga, who rounded up and sold her own subjects to be slaves? Why wasn't that the documentary she wanted to make? Isn't that weird?

Alicia Jade 🅥 It's a link to a terrible song.

@cyryc So you're saying they choose white because black or brown pigments weren't available for the painting despite the fact that they used black for the hair? And let's not forget her features are not African, they are European.

@calmbbaer "whose cast and setting would have you believe that racism - let alone segregation - was completely absent from New Orleans in the 1910s" Read the history of New Orleans. You might very well be surprised.
1
@calmbbaer Sure, but most of those laws in the 20th century were the result of the Roosevelt administration. They invented redlining. As usual, the federal government makes things worse for the people they pretend to be helping.
1
@oXRaptorzXo Nah. I'll wait until it's free on the internet. With a movie like this, it will spend one week in the theater and then goes straight to video.

Read a history of New Orleans. You'll see it was the federal government that encouraged segregation.
