@_ripVanWinkle_ Well, the financial consequences are making it clear the fans aren't buying into the woke/trans agenda at Disney. It's independent of what The Drinker says. Unless you believe "The Drinker" is so powerful he can move financial markets and affect peoples choices of entertainment in a measurable way. So the bottom line is "The Drinker" can say what he wants, the customers have made a decision that Disney movies aren't very good these days.

@Kpimpmaster Why "message" at all? Does it add to the enjoyment of the film in a way that generates more revenue? And I will say that it's impossible to "message" the whole trans ideology that will not negatively affect your bottom line. There's too many negatives associated with it, like it or not.

@Kpimpmaster In the end though, the beast turned out to be truly handsome and rich. Beauty and the beast is perfect example of Disney before they decided old fairy tales needed to be updated "for a modern audience". Today, they'd insist that Mrs Potts was a lesbian and chip was a trans person.

@ninjaman0003 So you're saying you take huge hits in revenue because that audience will die some day? Can you name a woke movie that exceeded expectations? Can you name a LBTQ+ themed movie that did really well at the box office?

@Kpimpmaster Sure, and pushing a woke/trans agenda is doing neither is it? The Woke crowd doesn't buy stuff, they only complain on twitter.

@ninjaman0003 Let's say you wanted to test your theory with a romantic comedy about two gay men, with good writing etc, check the concept with the market you imagine it will work for (e.g. gay men, straight men, gay women, straight women) and then check your box office against who is actually spending money. If people SAY they will go to see gay movies, but don't spend money on it, you know you have virtue signalers not an actual market A warning about this, you don't go after tiny markets with big budgets. And with gay people being less than 5% of the population and trans people less than 1% of the population, you'd better hope that every last gay person on earth goes to see it or else it won't work. That's how business strategy works.

@Kpimpmaster Equity is a bad thing. Equality is the gold standard.

@anonymousyoutube7259 Yes, but. He's the freakin' CEO, so ultimately he had accountability to point out to the owners that their mission goals and objectives are in conflict with his primary goal of creating shareholder value.

Perhaps DC will buy Disney...

@Kpimpmaster Are you giving us permission to go to hell? They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Is that the best place to find the on ramp to hell?

@ninjaman0003 Well of course, but they weren't trying to push an unpopular narrative either. Trying to push woke messaging at a time when woke is pretty hated by audiences is sure death for any show. Amazon just p*ssed away $1B on a Tolkien adaptation pushing "the message" and it bombed. Do you know how hard it is to fail with the built-in fan base that comes with Tolkien? But that's the box-office poison that is woke messaging.

@Kpimpmaster You realize Beauty and the Beast is based on a 500 year old fairy tale? It's hardly a new message that a person's outside doesn't reflect their insides.
