BTW, the WSJ has a much better editorial on this than you guys. Let's talk turkey. USAID is a way to distribute funds to NGOs without congressional or any oversight. Democrats used this money for pet causes or for graft, which is why they're upset about it. After all, no one rational could defend $50M for condoms, or Sesame Street for Iraq. But Democrats are extolling the virtues of both. By cutting this funding, suddenly everyone realizes that Democrats can't get people to protest on demand, because they have no money to pay protestors because USAID is gone. This is good for the country and good for our children.
