  1. Third party scanners/programmers exist and can be used on cars, so that's what independent shops use. But cars are far more common than huge JD Tractors, which is why no such market exists for JD Tractors. The other obstacle is the lack of spare parts from the dealer. Would they refuse to sell farmers the parts, even if a scanner existed? But I would encourage the authors of this to look into other videos that demonstrate conclusively it is possible to fix proprietary parts on virtually any automobile.
