  1. According to Consumer Reports, EVs actually have a higher 3 year costs compared to similar ICE vehicles. In addition, the 12-15 year time span is a big unknown primarily because of the battery replacement cost, which will be happening about now for the earliest EV's sold about 10-12 years ago. So roughly at 12-15 years, most of these vehicle will be junked primarily because nobody wants to be stuck with that cost; by comparison you can replace the entire engine/transmission on a typical car for that price. Resale on these cars is significantly worse than ICE vehicles because of the uncertainty around the battery lifespan.
