  1.  @jwtrucker5402  If we made voting the province of people who have skin in the game, then we could avoid term limits. But we don't. We have people who are essentially wards of the state voting for the party that promises them the most benefits.

  3.  @setharookazoo  Almost impossible to vote them out now. The incumbent has such a tremendous money edge that unless the incumbent retires or dies in office, they can't be replaced. Plus the party themselves won't support a challenge to an established candidate. We've heard all the "but the voters can vote them out at any time" argument, and they fail in the face of reality. In the last election out of 435 representatives, only 9 got voted out of office, about 2%. Which means without death or retirement, it takes 100 years to replace the congress.
