@kevin He Nobody has legitimate asylum claims coming up through the US-mexican border. But even if they did, it's the federal government's job to put them on federal land, like DC, it's not the state's burden.

@lukegianni Texas has no responsibility to house illegals. Nor does any state. The federal could ask states to take them, and offer to pay for them, but Biden isn't doing that because it would highlight what a failure Democrat policies have been.

@lukegianni None of the illegals biden and the democrats are letting in are under federal supervision, so your argument falls apart in the first line. Stop defending an indefensible policy. We are not obligated to take anyone into the country who does not meet basic rules. And "economic conditions" are not a legitimate asylum claim.

They fly them to a destination in the middle of the night, and they tell them "hasta la vista", baby, leaving the states to deal with them. Very few actually show up to their asylum hearing. They're just left for the states to deal with illegal aliens. Those are the facts. If we can't process them fast enough, then you either tell them to stay in mexico or you just deport them to their original country.

@lukegianni Move the illegals to sanctuary cities. The people who live in these places have already shown their love of illegals and indicated that their principles insist that they must help them. Which is why it's so weird that Democrats in wealthy sanctuary cities complained that Ron DeSantis was turning their sanctuary city into a sanctuary cities. As far as asylum is concerned, you MUST come through legally to claim asylum. You can't sneak over the border. Also, economic hardship is not a valid asylum reason.

@lukegianni You can only seek asylum at a legitimate port of entry. If you sneak across illegally, you cannot claim asylum. Of course, the Biden administration was all for normalizing illegal entry until the political brilliance of DeSantis made his policy of encouraging illegals a topic of national discussion. I had to laugh when the folks on Martha's Vineyard complained "They're turning us into a border town". And they inadvertently revealed their disdain for the people sneaking over the border and the border towns themselves. What hypocrites leftists are.

@lukegianni Let me be clear again. You cannot sneak over the border illegally and then claim asylum. And nobody lied to people to get them to Martha's Vineyard, they have the signed papers as proof of that. You've using your emotions on this instead of using facts. And Democrats are on the wrong side of history on this issue, and the voters will spank them hard for it.
