@gelatinskeleton8745 Because if you pay taxes, the money that could be used to fund social security is being used to fund illegals.

@bsmusic2601 Gas cars are more reliable, have longer range, and greater cargo/weight capacity. Gas cars have a longer life, too.

@bsmusic2601 Can you buy an electric car that will last 180K miles without replacing the battery, that will routinely get 450 miles of range, with a 5 minute refueling time, and doesn't require you to go back to the dealer/factory for service? All for under $33K?

@bsmusic2601 That's only true if you have a 480V supercharger, which no one has at home. And I checked on Tesla's site. The cheapest Model 3 is $43,000, not $35K. In fact they've never delivered a Model 3 at $35K. It has nothing to do with demand. It has to do with "that's how much Tesla charges for a model 3" For $43,000 you can get a very nice normal car that will have almost no maintenance except tire and oil for 100K miles. And it will last 20 years unless you wreck it. EV's were less than 5% of new car sales last year. Which means for every electric car, 20 normal cars were sold. So no, they're actually falling further behind.
