  1.  @cptspinach  Yes, but part of that social compact is that everybody is expected to pull their own weight, plus a bit more to pay for the disabled and old. Today, Democrats claim the social contract says that rich guys will pay your way in life. No society can survive when more than 40% of people are living from the labor of everyone else.

  2. Atlas Shrugged is overall very thought provoking, although near the end the 30 pages of exposition about her philosophy, but please read it. It shows you the timeless way politicians use the same language for hundreds of years to manipulate the weak. It's like the current Democrat party has read Atlas Shrugged and thought the bureaucrats were the good guys.
