@ishan9220 Actually it's a myth that life expectancy was only 30 years a long time ago. Those averages included high infant mortality numbers. People really did live to a much older age than that (and I know you won't believe me, so just google your question)

@TheFoolintherainn "Do you see Tylenol removed from shelves?" Tylenol voluntarily removed their product from the shelves until they could create a tamper-proof bottle, which Johnson & Johnson did create and it became a standard for the industry. No government intervention needed.

@seanbrown3000 That's a lot of if's and buts, and you end up with a scenario that has almost no chance of happening. But to play along with your flight of fantasy is even even in a free market people would be prosecuted for selling bad meat. And before you say "ah ha! so capitalism doesn't work!", criminal prosecutions exist in a free market.

@seanbrown3000 ah... I understand.

Obama, the most famous empty suit as president. This documentary is simply confirmation.

@mrmagoo9901 Why would businesses exist if not to make a profit? Why would the owner(s) or shareholders take the time and risk? Cuba doesn't allow profit. People are not sneaking into that country.

@TheFoolintherainn You need to check your history. Of course they did: "In an effort to reassure the public, Johnson & Johnson, the manufacturer of Tylenol, distributed warnings to hospitals and distributors and halted Tylenol production and advertising. After other incidents like strychnine added to Tylenol bottles in California, a nationwide recall of Tylenol products was issued on October 5, 1982; an estimated 31 million bottles were in circulation, with a retail value of over US$100 million (equivalent to $281 million in 2021).[6] The company also advertised in the national media for individuals not to consume any of its products that contained acetaminophen after it was determined that only these capsules had been tampered with. Johnson & Johnson also offered to exchange all Tylenol capsules already purchased by the public for solid tablets" You'll note that you don't see "FDA", or "Federal Government"

@TheFoolintherainn "Tony the tiger and Coca-Cola are shoving sugar down your kids" Really? Or is it the parents buying this stuff for the kids. Nobody forces you to eat. You are the captain of yourself. If you're eating stuff that's bad for you, you've got to stare in the mirror for the culprit. Same for your kids. If they're eating junk, ask yourself who bought the junk.

@mrmagoo9901 The top 1 percent holds about 32.1 percent, while the next 9 percent holds about 37.7 percent. The bottom 50 percent of U.S. residents hold 2 percent of all of U.S. wealth. Actually that distribution makes perfect sense if you think about it.

@TheFoolintherainn Hooray for you. But in general, people need to take responsibility for what they shovel into their maw. You're either a free person, or you depend on government to make the choices for you.
