@RichQcCa The latest figures indicate (From the NY Times, no less) that number was significantly inflated.

@Deontjie Easier. You give a scientist a $10K grant, they'll claim magic is real.

But not me. I am the science. And I'm not taking any questions.

@jamesmori7859 We've hit peak oil at least 20 times in the last 50 years.

@RichQcCa Science does not determine truth or falsehood, it proposes a hypothesis that best fits the data. Truth is left to philosophers.

@guillermoelnino Global boiling last week, this week the earth has cooled off. all is well. Now stop questioning us, plebe!

@doctordrabs He also didn't mention purple rain

@larrote6467 "none of you care ab out what's true, you care about what makes you feel good" Well, thanks heavens for you. You care about what's true unlike everyone else. OTOH, perhaps claiming the moral high ground makes you feel good, rather than caring about what's true. Which is the mark of a true ideologue.

Koonin's book is good, and he's such a distinguished scientist it was hard to shout him down, but the climate crazies claim he's "incompetent", which is funny.

@ge2719 His point is that you can't prove that's what caused it or what fixed it. It's in a class of problems known as "wicked problems". Look that up if you don't know what it means.

You can tell someone who doesn't understand science when they say "settled science", or who don't understand that science is a methodology, not a belief system.

@jimdavison4077 No. Physics probably comes closest to the truth, but you won't find a legitimate physicist telling you he's searching for truth.

@freedomrings1420 They squinted at their mercury thermometer.

The way a rational person would look at it is at least 90% of climate change would be happening today because of natural variations in the climate over time, and up to 10% might be a result of man. And the reality is if the West (North America and Western Europe) stopped all carbon emissions, it would have no impact on the climate. None. Zip.

@djm5687 Actually nothing reduced COVID deaths, the count was simply inflated to induce panic in the general public. The vaccines didn't (and don't) prevent the spread, the masks did nothing, unless you wore an N95 correctly, and heart issues in some doses of mRNA vaccines were 1 in 35. And yes, it was made in a lab in Wuhan under the indirect control of NIH.

@jimdavison4077 Yes, according to scientists the hottest day in 140,000 years. That gives me utmost confidence in The Science. How could it not? P.S. Just FYI a lot of those temperatures mentioned by ESA as "record temperatures" were in fact ground temperatures and not atmospheric temperatures.
1
@jimdavison4077 The old fashioned way. They lied. By counting any death in a hospital where a person tested positive for COVID as a COVID death, and then using that as a sample to extrapolate deaths. Also, the federal government had financial incentives in the way of money for burial for people who were said to have died of COVID.

@tonyrmathis Moral Superiority is a heady drug for people who really believe the world is about to end. And if the world is really going to end in 2030, it's already too late to save it. We should party like it's 1999

@kaizokujimbei143 "Mammals lived alongside the Dinosaurs." Which is true. Mammals are living along side dinosaurs today on land in large number

@julielevesque2668 I remember when carbon taxes were proposed to "fix" global...something. And I asked the person proposing them how does this help fix the problem? He answered "it forces companies to pay for the externalities of pollution" "Well, where does the money go", I sagely asked. He said "It doesn't matter where the money goes". Hence the scam. It ALWAYS matters where the money goes.

@J4Zonian Most scientists are Republican. In fact, most people with STEM degrees are Republican
