@cphilipbrown If we're trying to fill up the army and marines with women to make up for the lack of men, then we have a whole different problem.

@robertpesche Bingo. The current administration is prioritizing abortion over military readiness, and they're doing so for political purposes, same as Tuberville.

@NorthernVirginiaTaxProfessor So if you understand that much, you realize that if they bring all of these officers to the floor for a one-on-one vote, they could get started approving them right now this morning. So this is a choice for both the leadership of the executive branch and the leadership of the senate. Now armed with real knowledge, what's more important? Abortion rights for women in the military or military readiness? I know which side the leadership of the government believes in, but what do you believe in?
4
@robertpesche You're missing the point. It's not about pro/anti abortion. The primary objective of the military is to fight wars. If your readiness is impacted by a political decision, then the commander in chief is not doing his job. Either the President wants the military ready for war or he doesn't.

"Now I'm leaning towards foreign agent" Yes, that's the take of an intelligent person when someone else doesn't agree with them. You're very smart. In fact, the smartest one of all.
3
@awf6554 No, actually the US does go to the extreme to protect individual rights. No other country has free speech, gun rights, and a whole lot of individual rights enshrined in it's constitution.
3
And he's missing the bigger point, which means, he's giving us the take that he was told to take.

@gzsprout Did Peter point out that the military could get these people into their new positions by simply holding a vote on them? That's a fact you can look up. Because Peter gave you a political talking point and you didn't do any research to see if it was true. Which raises the question on why you believe Peter is a neutral actor. I'm curious why you hold him in such regard, rather than an entertainer on YouTube.

@ClannCholmain The Scandinavian model is the same as ours in the United States. The difference is they have the population the size of North Carolina, and a homogeneous population.
2
@awf6554 Individual rights are a cornerstone of American society.
2
@george2113 There is no legal requirement to do that, however. And social cohesion can only be achieved by lack of national purpose, not by law.
2
@pixler4208 Which was an improvement that what happened under Obama: "the only increase in wealth during that period [2010-2016] accrued to the top 10% of the income spectrum, which saw a 27% rise in wealth. The bottom 80% lost wealth, either a little or a lot. Losses ranged from half a percentage point to 70%"
2
@awf6554 It is, but neither party is addressing in any way. But the way you address inequality is not to take from some and give to others. What people get for "free", they never value. Which is why poor people who immigrate to the US do much better than people who have generational poverty and a dependence on the state.
2
@Jacob-pu4zj I do remember when he did that. There's no doubt Zeihan is a big-secrative-government fan.
2
@jeffwhitney3369 That's why military life is all about. Always has been since the Roman Empire, and it always will be.

It's the executives branch to make sure the military is ready. "Any threat to public safety and order must have consequences. " Sort of like a president who has the border wide open? You agree then that president should be removed from office immediately?
1
@PropagandaNeinDanke No, I'm simply repeating what the Mayor of New York said recently that the border is wide open and that New York cannot take any more illegals. Why do you think Mayor Adams is lying about the border being wide open?
1
Yes, the biggest threat to the country is women in military who can't get abortions for free. There goes the Republic.
1
@zacnewman7140 "and remember that we pulled out of Afghanistan before we knew what a mess the Russian army was" So you're saying Biden is incompetent? Well. Sure. But we can see the videos of him demonstrating that.
1
Biggest threat to the US security is the current government with too many old people who are obvious senile. You can see it on videos and TV, but you're not allowed to point it out. Second biggest is the mainstream media which is enthrall to the current government and simply report what they're told. And regardless of what you think of Tuberville and/or abortion, it seems the administration is prioritizing abortions over military readiness, which is the actual problem.

Musk specifically stated his satellites were only for peaceful purposes, not for attacks. He was requested to turn on his satellites all the way to the docks in Kiev, and he said no. It was his equipment, it was his rules, and the US government wasn't following the rules. Good for Musk.
1
When he talks about Ukraine or abortion, he's taking the party line. Which means he's for entertainment purposes only.
1
@bwarre2884 You could, but without free speech, the rest of your rights are meaningless. No other country other than the US will allow free speech. It's too dangerous.
1
@awf6554 The US government has stood for over 200 years. Not sure there's another government that's lasted as long.
1
@ClannCholmain ...and they have a common ancestry and a disdain for people who refuse to work. To put it another way, when everybody is related to everybody else, you naturally take care of family, and you criticize them when they're being lazy or break the social contract.
1
He didn't shut down his Starlink. He refused to turn on his Starlink all the way to the Kiev shipyards for an attack which was specifically against the Terms of Service. Also keep in mind they're his satellites and he set the rules.
1
@ryanward10 Peter also doesn't want to admit there is no way to force Russia to leave Ukraine. Even if Putin is deposed, the Russian forces won't be leaving. It's about logistics, not about weapons.
1
@TyberiusDe Then he should be pushing for the senate to bring every candidate to the floor individually. All of those candidates could be in their new jobs today, except this was a political movie by the executive branch and the senate.
