@Ayvengo21 Fusion is at least a decade into the future. Always has been, always will be.

It's the only path forward to create the amount of base-load electricity in a cost-effective way. Solar/Wind with batteries are prohibitively expensive and not nearly as reliable over the course of decades.

@homeinthewhiteoaks Well, but Russia has already won in Ukraine. They've achieved all of their strategic goals. But from a technology viewpoint, they don't have the capital to do the high tech work.

@peka2478 Yeah, you actually did miss the victory. They built a land bridge to Crimea giving them a port to sell oil to the world. They really couldn't care less about taking over the rest of Ukraine, although they will easily achieve it if needed. As a famous general said, amateur generals talk tactics, professional general talk about getting supplies to their troops.

@4203105 I have the numbers from people financing nuclear plants, and the worst from a cost perspective is wind/solar with battery storage. These are guys who invest money for a living BTW, not armchair investors.
