  1. You'd be shocked. A lot of this is lazy parents who go along with their kids to take out ridiculous loans for overpriced universities/colleges that don't have degrees that will get them a job when they graduate. So the colleges beef up their staff to ensure the kids think college should be a time for partying and making new friends instead of understanding they're taking on an expensive degree so they can be self-sufficient in life.

  2. I'm not sure why the governor is getting involved. Every university in the state could probably trim staff by 25% minimum and deliver better service to the student. And be more financially prudent. The University system should not be seen as an employer of last resort.

  3.  @gailcarey3597  And they build luxurious dorms to appeal to the kids and helicopter parents. When in reality all the student needs is enough room to sleep and study. That's it.
