Comments by "TeeKay" (@teekay_1) on "Joe and Matt Walsh Disagree Over Gay Marriage" video.
@woodlandgangsta3931 Saying that the purpose of marriage is to have framework for raising children doesn't make a theocracy. That's simply a fact. If the argument is "well, great, gay people should be allowed to have the financial advantages of marriage". Go to the Justice of the peace and have a civil union. How you make the leap to "OMG! Theocracy!" is weird. It's actually a non sequitur to what Matt is saying

@Gamesso1slOo0l Freedom is an outcome of responsibility. It doesn't exist in a vacuum.

@woodlandgangsta3931 There's so much nuttiness in your comment that it verges on being incoherent. Have an even greater day.

If you're not going to have kids (assuming you're not in your 60's and having a 2nd marriage as a result of spousal death or divorce) then why bother to get married? It's just like friends with benefits at that point.

@jjbird8809 Well, marriage as an institution and union between men and women doesn't depend on God to define it, it depends on the practical definition of a union between men and women to facilitate the creation of children and prepare them to be productive members of society.

@sazarrazas9806 Agreed. Joe is arguing for Civil Unions, not marriage.

@SpongeGod-YawehPants There was nothing authoritarian about it. Unless you're one of those people who think that rules about things you don't like makes an authoritarian society.
