Nice move, Jake, finding that old clip of Reagan. Also the Brits in WWII was important to include. It was the first thing that came to mind when you said Ukrainians are in need of comfort. The Brits had moments when it looked like all was lost, but they kept going, and aid came. Aid will come to Ukraine.

He even says that all the time -- "can you believe these people believe this stuff?" They're so busy worshipping that they don't see him laughing at them.

MTG called the gestapo the gazpacho, and she wasn't trying to be funny - she was on some rant about "the gazpacho police." Neither she nor Boebert can pronounce the word "indictment" correctly, and it's not like they haven't had plenty of opportunity to learn that word.

Agree. HOW they can still be undecided is beyond me, but there are still people who say they need to know more about Harris. All I need to know is she's not Trump. The fact that she's intelligent, empathetic, and strong is just icing on the cake.
3
Speaker Johnson is not just Trump's puppet. Johnson was one of the masterminds behind the attempted J6 insurrection. He has a background in constitutional law. He looks and speaks like an innocent little puppy but he is a dangerous man and is not to be underestimated.
3
Since the NY fraud judgement, I'm sure Trump wishes NATO allies would send their "payment" to his gofundme account. The Interest charges alone are nearly $800K per week.

Just for a lighter note, I think those dogs recognized that van and knew what was in it. 😋

Got curious about your remark on oil drilling in the arctic. Found that crude oil has a freezing point of between -40 and -60 degrees Fahrenheit (-40 to -51 Centigrade). The actual freezing point apparently depends on the makeup of the oil from deposit to deposit. Interesting stuff, oil.

Seems like a year since you first told us about GLSDB and got us all excited about their capabilities and ease of use. Months and months and months.
3
That was predicted. The massive protests stopped the earlier attempt to pass this bill, but the opinion was that the pressure had mounted on lawmakers to ignore the wishes of their people and fall in line with Russia. I feel badly for the people of Georgia whose lawmakers will not stand up for them.

41 kilometers = 25 miles. Pffft. I've hiked 16 miles in a day and I'm not in particularly good shape. Pitiful Russia. You made two countries miserable for what a good hiker could cover in a day.
3
I remember the woman and her hidden flag. That is a classic clip.
3
Thank you, citizens of Poland, for pulling back from the abyss. I rejoiced for you when I first heard of your election results, and now that your PM Tusk is back in office, I rejoice again. Tough times ahead. We need to work together.
3
Let GLSDB roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. I appreciate your encouraging videos at a time when other media are saying how slow things are in this "war of attrition." Thousands of undetectable cardboard drones from Australia, and thousands of GLSDBs from the US/Sweden/Boeing/Saab project. That's the ticket.

I wondered the same thing. Only reason I can see is that life has always been meager for the majority of their people, will always be meager given the track Putin has put them on, but at least they could once say they were a great world power as they ate their borscht.

I've come to know the Ukrainian anthem as well as I know The Star Spangled Banner.💙 💛

The game is boring? Between innings/quarters? Funny.

I disagree with Jakes take on punishing those who hire illegal immigrants. Some businesses, especially farming, are absolutely dependent on immigrant laborers, so they are going to hire them or they go bankrupt.
3
Thank you for the Vidnova team clip. Brought tears to my eyes that they can express joy in the midst of ... all the stuff going on there. I'm grateful for the fundraiser so that we could play a part in bringing some rest to the heroes who will spend some time in the beauty of nature and the company of their fellows, and perhaps feel restored. I hope they will feel restored.

Bless that child.

Is Tucker back to doing discussion like when he was starting out? I thought he was just a monologue kind of guy. That way he doesn't get any tough questions while he spins his stories. I confess I've lost touch since FOX saw the light about him.

How do you know they knew what they signed? You don't know. If the contract was in Russian, and they were told by a Cuban that they would be rebuilding houses, AND they were desperate for work, it is not their fault. It is the fault of their stupid government that keeps looking to Russia for support.
2
You're Filipino? How interesting. But don't think I understand the language. I had to use goggle translate to figure out your language. Nice to know Jakes is reaching so many different countries.

If the vote was secret ballot, neither McCarthy or Johnson would ever have been elected. The more reasonable Republicans just keep buckling under the peer pressure.
2
The weight of the hatred seems too much to bear. I will never forget that sobbing zoo keeper. The mental images and memories some of these people will have to deal with.
2
Glad you read The Atlantic, Jake. I heard the interview with their writer David Frum yesterday - Biden asked the Republicans what they want for border policy, and they respond "Guess!" I doubt most of them have any antipathy towards Ukraine, but Ukraine is part of the collateral damage in their main goal of screwing everything up.
2
If you look at it that way, then China and France belong together - same world view anyway. I never worried much about China helping Russia, because Xi is in everything for what he can get, not what he can give. There's no altruism there and no high ideals.
2
My fervent hope is that serious weapons are being delivered to Ukraine that, for strategic reasons, have not been announced to the world.
2
Democracy is the best way, difficult as it is. Otherwise these horrible men get in power and eff it up for everybody.

300,000 subscribers. 300,000 people you are helping stay sane.

"Arms manufacturers struggle to supply Ukraine" --- is the title of an NPR Newshour segment tonight on youtube. It focuses mainly on US manufacturing, but still interesting.

She's not expected to do at all well in SC, but if she even narrows the projected gap it's probably enough for her funding to continue. I don't even like her, but I've considered donating just for the joy of seeing her irritate the former guy.
2
I'm 90% with ya on that. I hear Biden had a cold last night, and then delivered a terrific speech today, but I didn't hear about today's speech from any media sources. I read about it in the comments section of this video and one other video.

The only person in the Trump-Putin relationship with something up his sleeve is Putin. Did you not hear the former Australian PM who saw this relationship up close and said Trump acted like a 12 year old boy around Putin? The only thing that would keep aid coming to Ukraine under a Trump Presidency is if Congress has a majority of Democrats who keep voting to spend money in that direction.
2
@grog5564 This is true. And home schooling does not help. Staying in the silo of their church and their parents' teachings. Part of a public education is the socialization and exposure to opposing views.
2
Looking at the electoral map you showed, it becomes clear the real reason Trump hates California and tried to withhold FEMA aid from them during their wildfires -- 54 votes from one state. One big blue state.
2
@JT-qs4tv That is also probably true.
2
As opposed to sitting idly by while Russia takes over all of Europe because no one had the guts to stand up to the Kremlin.

Jake was right. Count was 150,605 four hours ago.

Those men have beautiful voices. I was sorry the Jingle Bells song overlaid their singing.
2
 @TheGreatOne-gw7xh Oh faithless one.

Scholz, and also Stegner. I listened to him yesterday on DW. Lot of p-o'd Germans in the comments section :)
2
All this Olaf stuff has had me thinking if I'd be on here apologizing allatime if Trump were still our President. I think aid to Ukraine would have gone ahead, because the House and Senate favor it, and they would have forced the issue. If he vetoed any aid packages, they would have voted to overturn his veto. But Trump would have dragged his feet as much as possible In any case, I'm glad we don't have to deal with it like you do.
2
Their lord and saviour Reagan indeed. The majority in Congress, both sides of the aisles, do support Ukraine. It's easy to forget that when the media keep giving unwarranted coverage to the lunatics and traitors. Between the media and the bots, it's easy to think our whole country has lost its way.
2
I like "Fortitude Station" -- where you go to regain your resolve.
2
With all the oil and natural gas Russia has, it's strange they cannot heat the one city they value above all others. Maybe their gas refinery equipment has broken down, and they can't find any more Ukrainian washing machines with which to make repairs? Sorry about the schadenfreude, but it's high time that Moscow residents should feel a bit of this war.
2
I took a chance that your link wasn't spam, and watched Roman answering the kind of dumb questions from the interviewer. Good to know he's safe.
2
and the border is an issue they really have no interest in solving. They think it works for them to have chaos everywhere.
2
Commentor (Ben Hodges I think) on DW's To the Point program this week re: Ukraine, said the same thing as Krystal. US should be funding a full year. Helps Ukraine. Sends a strong signal to Putin who's hanging on by the skin of his teeth in hopes that Trump will be reelected and withdraw Ukraine support.
2
Russian Media Monitor has an very interesting conversation between two Russian elites. Title is: Oligarchs bash Putin's regime
