Nice move, Jake, finding that old clip of Reagan. Also the Brits in WWII was important to include. It was the first thing that came to mind when you said Ukrainians are in need of comfort. The Brits had moments when it looked like all was lost, but they kept going, and aid came. Aid will come to Ukraine.

I don't have the right words 😢 You will find the strength to overcome, but right now it must feel so dark.
3
Heard the good news from DW and was waiting for your take on the loosening of the missile restrictions. Thanks as always.

Speaker Johnson is not just Trump's puppet. Johnson was one of the masterminds behind the attempted J6 insurrection. He has a background in constitutional law. He looks and speaks like an innocent little puppy but he is a dangerous man and is not to be underestimated.
3
Right? It slays me that we give one individual the power to prevent one half of our bicameral Congress from even being allowed to vote on an issue impacting the entire country.
3
Bless that child.

41 kilometers = 25 miles. Pffft. I've hiked 16 miles in a day and I'm not in particularly good shape. Pitiful Russia. You made two countries miserable for what a good hiker could cover in a day.
3
I remember the woman and her hidden flag. That is a classic clip.
3
Many people want to help Ukraine, but are not sure which charities are legitimate. I often mention your channel for that reason, because I know you would only send people to where their money will do the most good.
3
That was predicted. The massive protests stopped the earlier attempt to pass this bill, but the opinion was that the pressure had mounted on lawmakers to ignore the wishes of their people and fall in line with Russia. I feel badly for the people of Georgia whose lawmakers will not stand up for them.

The game is boring? Between innings/quarters? Funny.

Thank you, citizens of Poland, for pulling back from the abyss. I rejoiced for you when I first heard of your election results, and now that your PM Tusk is back in office, I rejoice again. Tough times ahead. We need to work together.

Putin grow a pair and withdraw. Easy way to peace.

 @TheGreatOne-gw7xh Oh faithless one.
2
Happy Birthday to you too!
2
Trump said the truth maybe one time in the last 2 weeks. He said he lost the election "by a whisker." Now he's back to lying and says he was being sarcastic.
2
They put an Australian flag on a New Zealand truck -- or maybe it was a joint venture. I'm still wondering what USF is. The symbol looks like the USAF falcon ... sort of. Thank you for the tour! Live long and prosper, Rick!
2
I was thinking similarly. I have no doubt Ukraine will win, but what a waste. A few insane men in the Kremlin causing all this grief and loss and waste, and they will get nothing but loss in return for it. Maybe another Russian novel will come out of it.
2
Uvalde came to my mind also.
2
I think Jake answered that question in his previous video. He thinks they should fight for their country - not necessarily on the front lines, but working in Ukraine in some capacity.
2
Great 2-way; loved that both of you asked questions. Not sure about prospect theory applied to war. I can see it in, for example, Vegas, or the stock market, but I'm hoping our military leaders are considering the human lives lost if they don't keep pressing forward while winning.
2
@johntomasini3916 Quite seriously, yes, they do. Our schools need to teach that as well as Civics.
2
I think the flag waving bit has always been more of a Republican thing. They are more into displays in general. They talk about their religion a lot more than Democrats, but there are almost as many Dems who believe in God as there are Repubs. I think Republicans are more emotional and a sizeable portion of them adore Tucker.
2
You appear to have a better grasp of the situation than many who are actually in the situation.
2
here here.
2
@lachlanwelsh5880 Pretty sure Boebert's a goner soon. At least 4 other Republicans are running against her in the Colorado primary.
2
I think all the pro-democracy youtube channels should be promoting and supporting each other at this time. It took me months to find The Lincoln Project and The Bulwark channels. I only found MSNBC because Trump used to complain about it so much.
2
@frankv.2124 Agree. All the same, when this is done, and Ukraine is freed, I think Russian citizens should be forced to watch all the videos of the innocent people their soldiers brutalized. Part of reparations. Part of facing the truth.
2
No one I know personally is cooling in their support of Ukraine. We are in it for as long as it takes - as long as Ukraine wants to fight. Russia must withdraw completely and make reparations; no other outcome is acceptable, unless Ukraine decides otherwise. From an economic perspective, Ukraine is making all the real sacrifices. The US is spending a small percent of their gigantic defense budget, and it's money well spent. People who are afraid of escalation are just more Chamberlains from WWII. Russia started it. The West, including Ukraine, and NATO must finish it.
2
Yay for UK! (from US) Sunak seems much better than the lettuce head you had before.
2
Oh my! Where did our Leopards go? They were just here yesterday ....
2
If Ukraine falls, I expect NATO will be directly involved in the war, because Putin will not stop at Ukraine. He wants Alaska back, I hear.
2
Scholz, and also Stegner. I listened to him yesterday on DW. Lot of p-o'd Germans in the comments section :)
2
I wish UK would take back Hong Kong. So does Hong Kong.
2
Fair point. He'd decide it should be a flat dollar figure instead of a % of GDP.
2
and Trump never forgives.
2
Thank you for the wolves. Such a mournful sound. War makes the English language an immersive experience for many leaders. Zelenskyy seems entirely comfortable with it now - swear words and all.😊 I'm still pissed at those in our House who refused to let him speak on the floor during his last visit. Effing traitors. That's it.
2
Farmers in Ukraine have more tanks.😆 I listened this morning to Putin's speech. It would have been inspiring if it weren't such a load of old cobblers. Every single sentence a complete lie and projection.
2
Something I don't understand. GB is giving long range missiles when US wouldn't. But US is sending (eventually) GLSDB which are pretty long range, although not the max range. Is US just hanging back to get other countries to step up? Is US lagging in the rhetoric dept to avoid raising tensions furthers in Kremlin but all the time fully intending to send needed weapons?
2
The quote you cited at the beginning of your segment, although widely attributed to Doris Day, is actually from a poem written by Vivian Burnett, published in the 1939 edition of the Christian Science Hymnal, #249/250, I'm sure Doris did not mean to plagiarize; she just knew that hymn from her attendance in church, and it obviously stuck with her. It is a profound statement. "Our gratitude is riches, Complaint is poverty, ..."

Question: Should Russia be declared a terrorist nation?
2
I think it sums up the whole Kremlin. They live in a completely different world of entitlement, isolated from the people they are supposed to govern. They enjoy the perks while others do the work.
2
What would you have them do once they are broken into smaller pieces? A people who have spent centuries ignoring their government's actions will not be ready to govern themselves. Not saying you're wrong, just that it's not going to easy if that happens. A friend of mine majored in Russian history, and thought the breakup of the Soviet Union was a bad thing for that reason. We've seen in Russia how corruption takes over if the people are not organized to prevent it.
2
which Memorandum Russia signed but had no compunction about breaking. It "prohibited the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom and the United States from threatening or using military force or economic coercion against Ukraine, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, " (in return for them giving up their nuclear weapons).
2
I like "Fortitude Station" -- where you go to regain your resolve.
2
I took a chance that your link wasn't spam, and watched Roman answering the kind of dumb questions from the interviewer. Good to know he's safe.
2
Boy, that's an oldie :)🤯
2
I remember a comment from a young Russian woman after Putin first invaded ..."Oh, great. Now the world will hate us again."
2
My fervent hope is that serious weapons are being delivered to Ukraine that, for strategic reasons, have not been announced to the world.
2
Looking at the electoral map you showed, it becomes clear the real reason Trump hates California and tried to withhold FEMA aid from them during their wildfires -- 54 votes from one state. One big blue state.
