@jimberry8417 One possibility floated months ago was that Russia could be declared an illegal UN member based on the fact that they slid into place as replacement for the Soviet Union. Russia as a lone Republic was never voted into the UN. Who's to say that Ukraine, just for one example, should not be the replacement USSR representative at the UN?

My understanding of the Abrams tank is that it's too massive and heavy to as useful in Ukraine as the Leopard tank? There was some discussion months ago about the Abrams being a logistics maintenance/support problem. Don't recall the details.

NATO "might" take action if Russia uses a nuclear weapon? I thought it had been made abundantly clear to Russia that "consequences will be severe" if that happens. I doubt Biden was talking about more sanctions. At another time he said "it would be a serious, serious mistake." How to interpret that in any other way than NATO being engaged in more than their current support role? Am I reading too much into his public statements?

Not getting that. Germany ranks about 3rd in total $ contributions to the Ukraine defense. Not as much as we'd all like, but not a disgrace either.

Are you not counting the more than 230 Warsaw Pact-designed tanks from Poland and the Czech Republic? Perhaps the point is that Germany promised to do so. According to AlJazeera, "In late April, Berlin broke with its policy of sending only defensive weapons and agreed to supply Ukraine with self-propelled howitzers and tanks."

@adoatero5129 Wish I could recall who/when/where it was said that the Abrams tanks would be logistically unwieldy in Ukraine. They wouldn't be able to do maintenance on them in any kind of efficient manner. Not sure why the Leopards would not present the same problem however.
