Independent or unaffiliated voters make up the largest percentage of voters in nine states. I live in one of them. I think we just don't fully buy the line from either party, although I have to say I haven't voted R since Bush Junior.

@ValeriaMessalina1 What are you saying Dems refuse to talk about? What is "it?" What is "T F?" Dems and Reps agreed on a bipartisan immigration bill, but it's not even being brought to the floor for a vote. The House Speaker (R) won't bring it up, and the Senate minority leader (R) is talking against it. And they both say out loud that it's because Trump doesn't want them to. This is not because Dems have refused to discuss anything.

From US, it's always interesting to hear from an Aussie. Your country has dealt successfully with some of the same big problems we're currently struggling with -- like dumping the Murdochs, and like shoring up your protections for democracy and dealing with corruption in government. I hear, btw, you have two former Prime Ministers of different parties who have agreed to mutually investigate the Murdoch empire. I just hope my country can turn it around in time.

I disagree with Jakes take on punishing those who hire illegal immigrants. Some businesses, especially farming, are absolutely dependent on immigrant laborers, so they are going to hire them or they go bankrupt.

He didn't actually say all Republicans. I was thinking he meant both party's politicians when he said "all of them." It made sense to me since most Americans say they're just pissed off at Congressional politicians in general. @TheRedemptionRain

You're probably right. No reason to be mad at Dems. Doesn't stop a lot of people from being angry at them, though. Still, people in Jake Broe's comments section tend to be more level headed, so you're probably right. @TheRedemptionRain
