Governments like migration because the extra people generated additional national income. So when they report growing GDP it looks good but masks a decline in living standards because it’s grown slower than the numbers of people.

  4.  @Kiyoone  They “jungle” numbers are not the main immigrants in the UK. There are lots of Americans, Canadians and Australian immigrants all with work permits. They vastly outnumber the boat people that come. France is getting a lot of immigrants from its African colonies. Plus Europe as a whole is getting millions of people fleeing its colonial support for the US empire in West Asia. How many Ukrainians are there in Europe?

  6. It was useful for the USA to maintain its empire but now it’s an expensive white elephant. They can’t get involved in a war against any peer competition or face utter defeat which would force them to admit defeat or blow up the world.
