  2. Yes it’s a transition. Not an overnight transformation. For example a transition needs to start with energy efficiency and even replacing those appliances will take years. Insulation is another job that takes years to bring everything building up to standards. It takes years to install windmills and solar panels in a way that doesn’t disrupt the country.

  3.  @StofStuiver  Solar can be viable even in the north of Scotland because of the longer days during summer. The Shetland and Orkney islands are nearly 100% renewables now. They also have a lot of wind that helps. Fossil fuels are causing climate change so have a real penalty that most are ignoring.

  4.  @lilacer6841  Yes a drawn out operation will also demilitarise NATO at the same time. The USA has lost a third of its javelin’s. Given time NATO will have to use their better equipment to maintain the Ukrainians. That will further demilitarise the west.
