  1. Actually, the US also started the First Indochina War because France didn’t really want another war after WWII. It simply couldn’t afford it. Only with US’s encouragement and backing politically, financially, and militarily, they had decided to go back. Near the end of that war, the US had paid 85% of the bills for it. French troops were wearing US uniforms even! In reality, the French were just mercenaries hired by the US for its geopolitical gamble in Vietnam.
